I just started to fiddle around with Jamstix and is looking for some advice.
Jamstix looks like exactly what I am looking for:
A drummer
I think you can hear when ONE guy do a song -all instruments. There is only one will so to say. I like the idea of having one virtual drummer that you work with. You can even hire the one you are looking for by choosing by several in Jamstix
Then you like it to match and merge in a reasonable way.
In general this is how I want to use Jamstix:
I will not use internal sound
I like more detailed instructions what to play than "Rock", "Hip Hop" or whatever. The groove is a match with the base player and they need to align to each other.
From my opinion you often set a base groove and harmony when you do a song with base and drums. Then you do choruses, bridges and whatever that match that.
So.. I like to start with a base groove. I can:
A. Do it in midi for the drumprogram I will use and import it to Jamstix
B. I can do it in jamstix time bar and save it as a style
C. I can do in jamstix time bar and save the bars
I find that when I import a midi file, Jamstix treats it quite "loosely". It easily ends up being something else in many of the bars -quite far from the midi
I find when I work with the bars and load the bars that jamstix treats it literally and dont ever do any variations
I just looking for some advice and tips and tricks if objective is:
Stay to this groove but do fills and minor variations now and then? |
