Has anyone got a situation where JS starts to play randomly and will not stop, no matter what you do..have to close the project to stop it,
I've had this for a while now, Ralph could not duplicate the problem and seems to have got sick of answering my emails...
so anyone?
this is in CP8 on Windows 7
cheers, Kevin |

Kevin, are you aware of the "bar loop" button? It is a circle arrow button just above the bar editor that makes that bar loop independently from the host. I only ask because it sounds suspiciously like your description. _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. Komplete 8. Jamstix 3.6. Hi Jas..thanks for your reply, yes..I'm aware of the bar loop button and it is not the reason for my probs..
JS plays randomly..ie, no particulr beat, a snare here..a cymbal there and will not stop, it doesn't happen all the time it just hits me usually at a crucial time in a project...sods law innit!!!
It's driving me crazy I'm hoping an update comes in the not too distant future and the prob with just disappear..
Hi thomas..can't help with your problem, interesting that it's sort of the opposite to my prob
best, Kevin |

Kevin,
Spurious midi data getting routed to Jamstix triggering kit pieces or Liveloops? Never have seen your problem happen myself. |

interesting point!!
next time it happens I'll disable or delete all other midi tracks one by one and see if that points to anything... |

shadow,
i had an m-audio midi controller connected and IIRC, the option was set in Reaper (my DAW) to allow control messages. I had leaned the controller next to me and was bumping the transport without knowing until I finally realized what I was doing. oops.

Could it be a TF (transition fill) or RF (repeat part fill)?
Or maybe an "End Fill with Crash" (June 22 post by Ralph here: http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6497&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 ) ? _________________ Alexis

It's none of the above..It's random hits made worse because JS becomes unresponsive and I can't stop it...
unfortunately I've had to stop using it..will give it another go when a new uopdate is available..
thanks for your answer,

It might be you're host or if you have a midi controller attached with your host configured to pass midi data from all ports into jamstix.
A faulty controller can generate random midi. I had it happen to me a few times over the years where a switch or pot had become worn and triggered arbitrary midi data at random.
You can test this by simply disconnecting all external midi devices (usb or otherwise) or run midi ox to monitor your midi inputs for a while. Just filter out all messages except midi notes.
Have you tried running Jamstix in a different stand-alone vst container besides your host? Incidentally, what host are you using? |

Hi, I'm using Cubase..always have, I only have my midi keyboard which I've always had...
I don't have any other vst ''containers'' so can't do what you suggest...
thanks again..

I use this when I need to isolate vsts. It's very basic but it is solid and works well. |
thanks Joe... |
