|
|
Hi, I've been a happy user of Jamstix on Windows XP for several years. I just built a new computer and installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and have an issue with both the 3.6.0 and 3.6.1 updates.
Jamstix 3 (the original version I bought) installs fine. I give it my license code numbers and it registers and I am able to install all my drum paks.
The problem comes when I install the update (either 3.6.0 or 3.6.1) after installation there is a message to remember to copy my key file to the E:\Jamstix directory where it is installed to.
I don't have a "key file", I have a registration number.
This is probably going to be a problem if I can actually get the plugin to work after doing the update as REAPER (and other DAW) tell me that the plugin can't be available because MSVCP100.DLL is missing and informs me to reinstall the plugin. This I have done several times.
I have tried installing Jamstix 3 first and then the update on top of it and I have tried uninstalling all that and tried to install the update straight away - same problem.
Note that I am only installing the 32-bit version as I have some software that will only allow that.
I did install the 64-bit version once and loaded it in REAPER - it informed me it was disabling it's self due to the missing "Key file".
Thanks in advance. |

Somewhere a while back Jamstix started using a "Key File" system. Have you checked your Rayzoon Download page? It should be there.
Try this if you don't have your download link...

Well that solved the license key issue easily thanks!
As for the issue with MSVCP100.DLL, I searched my computer and found the file to exist in several locations. MalwareBytes uses it as does Firefox but it also resides in %WINDOWS%\System32\. If MSVCP100.DLL is a 32-bit file (and I assume that it is since Jamstix 3.6x 32-bit needs it), to the best of my knowledge, it is being installed into the wrong directory (on a 64-bit OS), it should install to %WINDOWS%\SysWOW64\ . 32-bit files should not be installed to %WINDOWS%\System32\, I know that doesn't sound logical but it's true.
I could try copying MSVCP100.DLL to %WINDOWS%\SysWOW64\, but if it is a 64-bit file, that would probably not be a wise move.
I'll wait for a reply from Rayzoon. |

| Hi, that file is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables. Just Google it, download it and install. That should solve that problem. |

Installing the Visual C++ Redistributable 2012 from here did nothing to alieviate the missing DLL problem - in, fact both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of those libraries had been previously installed by some other software as the installation routines offered only to either repair or uninstall the kit.
I can install the original v3, load all my paks and then upgrade to v3.5, but either the 3.6.0 and 3.6.1 updates make the installation inoperable.
I suppose scince Ralph has resonded to other messages posted after this one and yet ignored this one, I suppose I am on my own.
Thanks for the help I got tho. |

Believe me, you are not on your own. Ralph probably just didn't see your post. I've never known him to ignore someone needing help. Send an email to Rayzoon support if Ralph doesn't reply. He will help, I know from experience.
I believe that it is the 2010 redistributables you need but don't quote me on that. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523 |

Yes, I discovered this via a google search. It turns out that the latest Visual C++ redistributable (20012) does not contain the needed 32-bit MSVCP100.DLL, but the 2010 V++ redistributable does:

That solved the problem and Jamstix 3.6.1 is now loading. |

Well, solve one problem and another pops up.
Jamstix say's I don't have a license to use the Bono pak even though I installed it in Jamstix 3.0 and it worked in 3.5. I reinstalled the Bozo pack in 3.6.1 and it didn't ask me for a license code and I see no where to register the pak.
Exactly how do you authenticate an expansion pak?
There is no Bonzo pak key file on my download link page. I have a pass code.
At this point I'm ready to uninstall everything (once again), stop with the 3.5 update, and call it a win. It shouldn't have to be this hard. |

Jamstix no longer uses the authentication codes. It uses that license key file. If you are sure you have the license key file in the proper location then the only thing I can think of is that it doesn't have Bonzo Pak included in the file. If this is the case, I am sure Ralph can look into it. _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. Komplete 8. Jamstix 3.6. Let me apologize for jumping in so late! Also, installation will be much easier in Jamstix 4, I promise.
It sounds as if your license key file does not include the Bonzopak authorization. I've just sent you a new key file. Please place it in the Jamstix folder (i.e. c:\jamstix3). Let me know if that does not fix it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

That did the trick, I can now load my REAPER projects with no errors and they wok perfectly.
Thanks sooooo much. Getting this new machine together and understand a new OS has been a bit challenging at times. Learning how to use XP Mode so I can use my favorite MIDI editor - Cakewalk 3.01 (16-bit) was a major undertaking for me in it's self but even that is working fine now
Thank you and everyone that helped me out! |
