Hello everyone!

First of all I want to thank Ralph for the many really useful new features in Jamstix 1.3!

There´s only 1 thing I have a real problem with (from version 1.0 on).

To understand the problem let me layout my equipment a bit:
RME HDSP 3296, UAD 1, Powercore, Cubase SX 3.02, Jamstix 1.3, Battery 2.1, Windows XP Pro, Intel 3.06 GHz, 1 GB RAM
The Project:
* 1 Midi-Track with Input from Jamstix, output to Battery
* 1 Midi-Track with Bass
* 1 Audio-Track
As long as I´m only using native VST-Plugins on the audio-track everything works just fine.
As soon as I´m using 1 or more DSP-Plugins from either UAD or Powercore, the first note that Jamstix should play is not played.
For example: The bass-line starts on bar 5. I position my song on 5.1.1 and start it, there is no note played by Jamstix on 5.1.1 even tough there should be a bass-drum beat.
When I switch off the latency compensation it works fine again.
All of this happens when I´m working with the RME set to 12 ms latency or higher which I often have to.

Does anybody have the same problem?
Is there a handy solution for this issue?
Any help appreciated!

Thanks in advance
Tom.

Does this also happen with the internal sound engine?

Is only the first note missing and after that it plays fine?

Hi Jeremiah,
I'm having the same problem here.
Are you really sure only the first note is missing as opposed to the complete Jamstix output being a bit too early (getting worse with higher latencies and more DSP-card plugins) ?
Could you please check against the metronome ?
When I record the MIDI out from JS it's clear to see all the notes are off a certain amount to the left (too early).
I second the observation that switching PDC off fixes the timing issues, but somehow this is no solution as I'm using DSP plugins almost exclusively these days (3 UADs and 1 PoCo Element) and don't plan on returning to native processing anytime soon. Crying or Very sad
This is the reason I'm not using Jamstix much atm, as much as I'd like to since it really is a fantastic piece of software and getting better and better.
Still I won't rule out the possibility of a user error, but what are we doing wrong ?
Hoping for a solution,
cheers, Rhino

BTW,
SX 3.02, XP Pro SP1, all current versions and drivers, only legal Software
P4 3.06, 2 GB Ram, RME Digiface

Hi, ProfRhino!

Looks like you´re right. Now I also recorded the midi-output of JS with the same results: Notes are early. The amount of "earliness" depends on the number of DSP-Plugins used.
When I switch off PDC all notes are right in place.

The latest beta (X5-4) has a fix for this issue:

http://rayzoon.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?p=4020#4020

All you need to do is load the new audioM8 1.3 into the project (it doesn't even need input but make sure there are no DSP-based plugins in its signal path). Jamstix will communicate with audioM8 to detect the timing offset of the plugin chain that affects Jamstix and will automatically correct for it.

Many thanks to Rhino for providing the initial idea for this fix and tireless testing!
