|
|
Without making any modifications to my setup, the key mapping in Jamstix seems to be two octaves higher than the actual MIDI messages.
For example:
Jamstix kick drum piece shows a key of C3. Yet, it responds in drum module mode to C1. Also it sends a MIDI Out of C1. I'm using a MIDI Monitor plugin to verify the messages in and out of JS. This same transposition happens on any piece.
I'm sort of ok with this as I can simply transpose the kit I'm working on, but I really would like to be able to tell Jamstix to play the kick on C1 in the JS kit editor. If I change the key mapping in JS to C1, then the kick responds to and sends out C-1.
Any insights? What am I missing? |

Please check 'Yamaha Pitch Convention' in the Jamstix OPTIONS page. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| A ha! Thank you so much for the quick response. Btw, your product is amazing. As a non-drummer, I'm gaining a much richer appreciation for how real drummers think, and that educational experience alone is worth the price. that appreciation is spilling over to just listening to music as well - not to mention the new level of quality and interest to my own projects. Really great work. |
