I think I have it but wonder if I am missing something...
Create a one bar part with as many reps to get desired length.
Check rep and transition fill boxes.
Crank up transition fill and repetition fill meters most of the way and adjust as necessary.
Check or uncheck "no groove" as desired.
Adjust other fill parameters to taste.

Bottom line? Is it more than just multiple fills?
J.L.

That's exactly how I do it and it works well enough for my taste. I always find tweaking the "Double Stroke" controls judiciously dials in what I want the most but be careful because they can take your "Solo" out into left field. Once it's "out there", I haven't found a way to rein it back in and usually start over. Changing to a different drummer for the solo section can have interesting results also when compared to the rest of your song.

Drum solo in the song builder does the same, plus:

- sets fill lengths to full
- sets fill length variations to 0
- sets fills to 'Freeform'
- toggles start and end crash to off

That's great Ralph.
I'd like to use just that but have lots of parts already composed, So can I insert a drum solo part into an existing song? If so, please tell me how.
Thanks. Keys.

I'm not Ralph but Right click the part BEFORE your solo, "New Part">"Create New Part After This Part". Change "BARS" to 1 and "REPS" to however many bars long the solo will be and check RF in the Song Sheet for the new part. Follow the instructions above to complete.
