I understand the basic procedure for making Jamstix play Addictive drums. Here's the procedure I'm following from a post of the Sonar forum:

"Drop JS onto the arranger and make sure that "Enable MIDI Output" is selected. In JS, load a song (such as "Modern Gospel - Aaron) and switch to the kit view and load "AD Jamstix" kit, then go to the mixer (all while still in JS) and click "MIDI Only". Next, drop AD onto the arranger and make sure that a kit is loaded, then go to the track view in the SONAR inspector (on the left). Here you'll need to select the MIDI input to be JamStix (look at the bottom of the inspector track view). Once this is selected, if you start the transport you should hear the song playing."

However, most of the drum pieces in my AD Jamstix kit for some reason do not send MIDI out. Only the splash and china cymbals are currently configured to do so in my AD Jamstix kit. The rest are missing either Key or Output data, or both. When I hover my mouse over these fields, the status line tells me "Click to change..." etc. But clicking does nothing, so I cannot change the fields.

I'm not sure this is causing my inability to connect Jamstix to AD, because even the cymbals which are properly configured do not send their MIDI data to AD. I would appreciate any suggestions.

For kit pieces with multiple articulations, please select the desired articulation to change its MIDI key. Also, what version of Jamstix are you running?

Thanks for clarifying about the articulations. And I see that the Output field is for audio output, not MIDI, so that has nothing to do with the problem. But actually I don't think the articulations do either. For some reason MIDI is not getting from JS to AD.

I'm running 3.6.0 (x64)

Please use 'Load Key Map' in the kit menu and load 'Addictive Drums.kmap'. Does that fix it?

For some reason it's working now. I have no idea why, but I guess that's better than having no idea why it wasn't working.

Thanks for your help.
