The below link is a simple drum groove I'm trying to get started in Jamstix so I can then spice it up a bit.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8477791/Drum%20in%203.mp3
Can someone guide me to the best Style/Drummer to get this beat going in JS3? Right now I have my DAW open, time signature and tempo set, and JS3 instantiated. But I'm just staring at that GUI going um, now what do I do if I just want to mimic this simple beat as a starting point?
FWIW, I own all the style and drummer packs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
PS - would one consider this groove to be 3/4 or 6/8 time sig? |

That's a 6/8 so I'd recommend this:
- use the '6-8 Rock' style from the 'Rock' style folder
- click 'Kick' in the brain and remove it
- click 'Shuffled Kick' in the brain and remove it
- from the brain menu choose 'Add' and then 'Classic Kick'
- set the boxes in the 'Classic Kick' element as shown here:

Wow, Ralph thank you so much for that detailed explanation! I'll give it a whirl.
Thanks again. |

Ralph,
My Classic Kick box looks different from yours. Mine is 4x4 as opposed to your 2x6. Is Jamstix still thinking we're in 4/4 even though I have my host (Reaper) set to 6/8? |

| Never mind, got it. Not sure what happened but I had to disable then re-enable JS and all is good now. |

Ralph, next question - why does the groove drop out a hi-hat hit every couple measures on the 6? I have everything set exactly the way you show.
Thanks. |

Do a 'Reset Song' in the song menu and see if it is fixed then. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
