What parameters/criteria/random seed occurs when you press "compose"?
Because it seems like when I first load Jamstix, select a drummer, manage to get a bar to play, it sounds "ok".
"Compose" creates something I fathom as being algorithmically related to the "drummer", but rhythmically askance. Pressing "Compose" again seems to not only create a new pattern, but an even more bizarre one.
It seems to me that each limb is doing something algorithmically in the style of the "drummer", but in a non-congruent way.
What is the procedure to limit "composing" just one limb, without completely changing everything else? Like with the "Carmine" setting, if there is a kick and snare pattern I like, but I want to get some accents or syncopation going on with the hat, how do I get it to "try" different things without changing the kick and snare?
Effectively, what I am looking for is a "lock kick pattern" "lock snare pattern", etc.?
I think this is the single most vexing thing about Jamstix: I feel like I'm starting to get something I like, and then one little change makes the whole thing go askew. |

For instance, I want to get more dynamic fluctuation in a hat pattern...
So, I turn up the hi-hat "power range" knob, since it says "determines random power fluctuations".
What I get is hat beat dropping; open hats; sometimes a new kick drum beat... all sorts of thing, but not just "power fluctations" on the hat.
I am trying/attempting to get some sort of realism happening with SSD 4 jazz kit, everything comes out sounding like either marching band sticks bashing loud, or soft depending on velocity behavior settings. Resulting in "robot" or "drunk hair metal" drummer.
