I'm running a project with moderate amounts of processing (around 15% CPU usage on i7-3770K). Sometimes Jamstix goes crazy its CPU usage jumps from the usual 0.4% to like 30-40%, and all audio processing slows to a crawl (while total CPU usage goes down to 8%, odd).

This is a screenshot from REAPER's CPU monitor when one of these CPU spikes happen:

If i disable parts of my project (i.e. disable lots of processing), things go back to normal. Didn't happen with earlier versions.

Adding this line to \Documents\Jamstix3\jamstix3.ini should fix this:

PriorityMode=1

Try adding this line as well:

ThreadMode=777

If that still doesn't fix it, please email me rzdlog.txt and jamstix3.ini from Documents\Jamstix3.

Funny enough, I just came here looking to post about this very issue. Oddly, most of my spikes happen after I hit stop. I rarely have trouble playing anything but upon stopping playback, the reverb tails and any delays I have still bouncing around from vsti's start breaking up terribly. I'm not sure if it's related, but I never saw this problem until I upgraded my computer recently. My old rig was a AMD Phenom x4 with a firewire port built into the motherboard. I upgraded to an i5 rig with a firewire pcie card and now it's became a regular occurance.

I'll try adding the lines to the ini file and see what happens.

Edit: Additional Info
I have TurboBoost turned off in the BIOS
I switch the power management to performance in Windows to performance to stop processor throttling .

I've been testing it out for the last hour or so and so far the problem seems to have been solved. I'm just curious as to why it didn't pop up until after my computer upgrade. Is it related to a difference in the Intel vs AMD architecture or maybe related to the different firewire port? Or maybe it was just a fluke it started after that.
