|
|
Just downloaded the 1.3 demo and I've been able to get it to free jam to MIDI beautifully. However, I've been trying for two days and have not been able to get Jamstix to recognize Any audio whatsoever, ie the red light will not light up. I mainly use Tracktion but it doesn't pick up audio when I use it in Fruity Loops, either. I've moved the trim dial to make and min, put the switch to jam to audio, tried putting it after a synth, after input straight from my microphone, putting in a track before and after I had the synth set up (I remember something about you have to set up the track before putting in Jamstix for Tracktion). I've reinstalled both Tracktion and Jamstix to no avail. I'm not sure what else to try. I put a screenshot below of one way I've tried to set it up which should be working. I've even tried putting it in a rack and it made no difference. I have a Delta 44 sound card and I'm using the M-Audio ASIO drivers.
The fact that it's not picking up any sound in both Tracktion and Fruity Loops makes me think it might be some kind of system thing. However, I send sounds from plugin to plugin all the time with no problem. I'm completely stumped. Help!

You may want to use audioM8 which comes with Jamstix (audiom8.dll). Just put it in any audio path and it will send the appropriate data to any Jamstix instance active on your system. Jamstix will automatically sense the presence of audioM8 and use it.
Let me know if this doesn't help. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| You know, this must be some kind of curse. Everytime I'm completely dumbfounded by a problem and go post in a help forum for help, my computer starts to work. Every time! I reinstalled Tracktion and the demo (probably the 15th time by now) just so I'd have a clean installation to try any suggestions and all of a sudden it decides it wants to work. I had also tried the audioM8 before and that didn't work either. I honestly don't know why it decided to work on this particular reinstall but I just gonna let it be now that it's workin! So far I'm very impressed with the plugin, as well as the extremely responsive support in this forum. |

| Ugh, I went to sleep after I got Jamstix to recieve audio. I woke up this morning and gave it a quick run and it's back to not recieving any audio whatsoever. I'm going to reinstall again later tonight to see if I can repeat what happened. |

Alright, well it seems to be working now with the AudioM8 plugin. If everything holds steady for a few days I'll probably be buying the program. I'm still finding it very strange that the Jamstix plugin would accept audio input directly sometimes and yet one day later I have to use the AudioM8 plugin. Maybe my system is just screwy or something.
Btw, I was just wondering, when I buy the program, how long do I get updates for? Up until you get to version 2 or lifetime updates?
Thanks! |

It's not your system. It happens with Jamstix in Tracktion. But it should always work with audioM8.

You'll get free updates until Version 2.0 next year. You will then get a discount offer on 2.0. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph, I'm not sure if this was the main culprit, but I noticed that if I add two instances of Audiom8 to a songfile in Tracktion that they stop working and Jamstix stops recieving sound until I restart Tracktion. I tried using a couple audioM8's because I wasn't sure if maybe they would add the sound together and both feed into Jamstix simultaneously. Well, even though that doesn't work, I thought it might be a cool feature for the future because it saves time on having reroute tracks to Jamstix, especially if you only want to route the pre-processed track.
Everything's still workin with Audiom8 and I'm lovin the plugin. Now that I'm past all these setup issues I can start digging deeper into the program! |

Yes, running more than one instance of audioM8 causes problems at the moment. We are working on it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Hey Ralph, the audioM8 beta is working great on my system. I'm running a couple instances with no problems. |

Thanks for your testing, it's working great here, too. We will release it with the next Jamstix beta. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
