Ok i think i sorted it out. Due to the new design of js3.6 and its plugin server that runs as a seperated process you can run into thread priority issues. For example if you run reaper with an asio interface at low latency and high sample rate it has a higher thread priority than the aps of js. Therefor jamstix can stuck up and go mad if the DAW window with all the stuff going on there is in focus. Setting the thread of the aps to high in task manager fixes it. So this problem should be fixed for rc2, eh? |

Interesting. I didn't see those issues at 96kHz here on the test machines but I'll look into the thread priority logic. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Wow -- that is some fine troubleshooting!
Since the introduction of the JS3 plugin server, I, too, have noticed playback problems (e.g. distorted, crackly playback; CPU load spikes; file I/O spikes) with the Jamstix VSTi hosted in Sonar X3. I had just chalked it up to some limitation of the ASIO4ALL + Realtek HD audio driver tandem on my laptop. |

Paul, the AAX version is only for PT11+. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thats what I thought it may be any suggestions for how to use Jamstix in PT10? as I really was hoping not to have to spend a couple of hundred quid to upgrade PT at this time?
Cheers |

I don't have any suggestions for PT10, unfortunately _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| a shot in the dark but are you aware of anything in the new version that may prevent the VST running effectively in the VST to Rtas Wrapper? It used to run fine up until the latest set of betas where it just started freezing the GUi. The VST runs fine in everything else so I guess it may be that the wrapper is getting towards it best by date |

The VST/RTAS wrapper can cause various issues with Jamstix. Please duplicate the issue and then send me rzdlog.txt so I can take a look for something obvious. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

The final release candidate for Jamstix 3.6 is now out! It is listed under 'UPDATE' (not 'BETA') in your download page.
Please report showstoppers only. Any other issues will be addressed in future updates. Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'm getting all kinds of "access violations" and "invalid pointers" with the 3.6 release candidate in the MIDI groove import dialog when trying to load a MIDI clip.
I'm using Reaper 4.62 on Windows 7. The same happened in the last beta, both x32 and x64. I've never used MIDI groove import so far, so I don't know if this problem existed before...
Or maybe it's just me doing something wrong? |

| I can confirm what jimmy_r is reporting. I can't do anything in the midi import window without an access violation, invalid pointer or list out of bounds errors. That even includes using the "Cancel" button to close the import window. |
