That is an old version of audioM8 that will not work with V3.6. Please check your plugin folders and make sure you only include the new audioM8.dll of V3.6 _________________ Ralph Zeuner

ah..strange problem.
I had an old version of Jamstix 2 still in my vstplugins folder but whenever I dragged the audiom8 from the Jamstix3 folder into an audio track it was picking up the old version. Live seemed to have gotten confused.
I moved the old Jamstix2 folder out of VSTplugins and now picks up the correct Audiom8 version.
It would be great to have an input check on the Audiom8 like the old version though, it's useful to know in order to fine tune the input levels.
The VU meter was very useful on the audiom8 imo.

Beta 28 is now out for PC and OSX.
We are especially interested in these issues:
a) Audio crackling/overloads
b) White screen errors on load (i.e. Core Access Error)
If you still have any of these with Beta 28, please email me \Documents\Jamstix3\rzdlog.txt and a brief description of the error/behavior.
Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Beta 28 Feedback:
Like the manuals link. Seems simple, but when you have addons very useful.
1. Can you please fix the double click song in wizard to open the right song.
Maybe this is wrong atm because it lists everything in the song folder even if they are in subfolders. I have subfolders to hold my LiveLooped songs which I have to prefix with LL so they get sorted properly.
It would be MUCH better if the wizard view showed the folder structure as it is, with subfolders, so you can better organize and select songs by whatever category you want. A more advanced method might also be the tag system as used by Native Instruments and Spectrasonics, so you can filter by tag.
I suspect the double click is picking up the index only for what is in the top level root song folder, which is why it is opening the wrong one (at least for me with my folder structure). You can possibly repro by creating some subfolders with prefixed songs in them.
2. Please bring back some form of metering on Audiuom8. It closes the loop between seeing what the actual signal level is and how the audio jamming settings affect the power knob.
more testing... |

It worked now in the one project that so far always came up with the white screen. Bitwig Studio 1.0.8 RC2.
Cool
Thank you!
And yes, I think having the Jamstix Manager on Windows as well would be very welcome.
Cheers,
Tom |

Will definitely be fixed in next Beta.

Originally, the quickstart song list was not designed to be a major functional element. Will be looking into expanding this for JS4.

This may have to wait until JS4. We're just way behind the curve right now. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph,
any news on Audio Jam with AudioM8? Just tested beta28, but the Audio-IN LED remains dark (in Live and Cubase).
I assume you haven't looked at this issue yet, have you?

Haven't been able to duplicate. Is this PC or OSX? Did you try turning up the Input Trim knob? Does audioM8 GUI show an error code? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi,
I did some investigating with the audiojam issue, because I wasn't sure, if it was supposed to be working at all with the betas, and with my setup, it works only with the 3.5 version; powerknob turning, led blinking.
None of the betas I tried, 23, 26, 27, 28, show no life that the audiojam and M8 are working.
i5, Win8.1, Reaper.
Edit: Everything's x64, haven't tried the x32 versions.
EDIT 2 IMPORTANT - culprit found, everything works fine with x32 version.
Cheers

No Audio-In-LED blinking here either, both Mac and PC. Audio Jam works though and the Knob moves. |

Hi Ralph,
I am on PC, everything 64-bit, no more 32-bit hosts and plugins installed, so unfortunately cannot test it. Interesting that it works for andean_w in 32-bit, but not in 64-bit.
No error code in audioM8 GUI, it shows "Audio data analyzer for Jamstix (3.6.1)".
Cranking up the Input trim does not change anything.
Strange is that I can turn and position the power knob by hand (well by mouse to be precise ) when audio jam is active. That was different in older versions where the knob would always jump to a position corresponding to the current input level.
Hope you can solve this soon.
Regards, Max |
