This is great news, I have been waiting for years. I reviewed ezdrummer, logicprodrummer and it appears that the jamstix A.I. is superior. Is A.I more than the random/probability stuff they do with logicpro drummer? It has been years since I "jammed" but I recall the drumming seemed spooky intuitive.

Yes, the A.I. in Jamstix uses rule-based models that are more complex than what is done in other plugins.

Jamstix is the only plug that contains the amount of fine-tune control over your grooves as compared to the others. Logic's Drummer is great for a really quick click-and-go drum track, but the parameters available to fine-tune from there are quite limited. As for EZ Drummer 2, well I just watched the presentation video, and yeah the songwriting tools in there are very impressive and a huge improvement over both EZD1 and Logic Drummer, but still no match for Jamstix as far as being able to control every aspect of your groove.

I've been waiting YEARS for Mac OS X Jamstix to be released - April is going to be a GOOD month!! Smile

Agree that Jamstix is much more powerful than Logic/garageband, however there is a lot to be said for the simplicity of their Drummer interface.

When the next version of Jamstix is developed, I'd like to see a simpler initial interface, but retain the depth that sets it apart. I just love it when Jamstix surprises me with an interesting and original fill; Drummer never surprises me......

Agreed on the simplicity of Drummer. Apple usually nails it when it comes to keeping things simple. As far as Drummer goes though, it's at the expense of full control and tweakability.

I don't see how Garageband's drummer is simple to use. Jamstix has a song wizard where you just choose the drummer, style and kit; type in a song structure, then press CREATE SONG. Done.
How long does it take to do that in GB (including sticks at the start and a cymbal crash end)?

We're talking about Drummer in Logic Pro X, not Garage Band. Drummer in LPX does that all very quickly and intuitively like Jamstix. But if you want to further tweak the groove after that, Drummer gives you limited options when compared with Jamstix.

Jamstix is, imho, the most flexible and realistic virtual drum software out there. Where it still has room for improvement is the GUI For the song and bar editors. Not for run of the mill stuff but when you start to get your hands dirty.

So glad I checked in today. I've been waiting for this well, as long as everyone else. I kept checking in because I'm such a fan of JamStix. This is great news.
