I've been following the Jamstix Mac topic for a few years now (I changed to a Mac over six years ago and was gutted that Jamstix wouldn't work), so like all other mac users on here I'm getting a wee bit exited about the new Mac version, but …. will it work with AAX2 plugin format for Pro Tools 11?
I'm currently currently running Pro Tools 8 on a Mac Pro and on a MacBook Pro with the MBox Pro II interface, with BFD and Spectrasonics Stylus RMX as my main source of drum loops. I'm going to be upgrading to version 11 in the near future, which I know comes bundled with version 10, so I could that as a work around, but going back and forth between sessions 10 and 11 seems a bit of an awkward workflow.
So keep up the good work Ralph, and as soon as it's available I'm getting it!

At the moment it's only VST and AU for the Mac. Ralph had mentioned working on AAX at some point, but I would think that's still a ways out.
The beta works pretty good. Still some UI issues to hammer out, but the drumming seems to be solid. |

We are getting close to the public OSX Beta. In preparation, we'd like to have a few more experienced Jamstix users try the current OSX Beta. If you are interested, please email me the following data:
- full name
- email used for Jamstix license
- forum user name
- machine specs (CPU, OSX version, RAM)
- DAWs installed and available for testing
Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi, Ralph. Honestly, why not release it as a public alpha with a heap of warnings like "for advanced users only"?
I have two Macs and a good variety of software to throw at testing; however, I don't have a reliable window of time to play around and report results.
Thus I don't want to sign up for the beta without being reliable. Rayzoon produces the best, it deserves the best effort in testing, too!
An alpha would make me feel far less guilty if I didn't get around to testing before your next revision(s). So, put stuff out there and I'll get to it at some point, and buy whatever kits/add-ons I'm missing, while I'm at it. (I stopped buying new packs after I switched to Mac.)
OTOH, if you have enough testers, I'll be happy to pick things up at Public Beta time; same deal. Whatever works for you -- I'm still thrilled to finally be getting a Mac version at some point! |

Just a quick update from me who has been Beta testing. I gave it a good run in Reaper and it works flawless.
Today I have been testing in Logic Pro X and can not get it to midi trigger EZ or Superior Drummer through the IAC port. I believe Logic does not support this directly so I don't believe it is a Jamstix problem. It could also just be user error.
Anyone else Beta testing in Logix Pro X? |
