| I was wondering if it is possible to open the Wizard, set the structure, click Create Song and then have Jamstix export a complete drum part as a midi file without actually playing the song in your DAW? |

Hi andrew_k,
No, JS has to play through the song to compose the parts. |

| Thanks for letting me know. I wonder if this could be implemented in a future release? Ralph? |

This is because we don't know what MIDI controllers may be sent to the host during play as well as MIDI or audio input if such a jam mode is selected. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just out of curiosity (I'm away from my music computer), if I set the DAW to play say at 960 BPM (REAPER max value AFAIK), will it affect what Jamstix will generate? In other words, will it be different than generating data at 120 BPM ?

No, it won't affect it. What I do in REAPER is a 'render' to WAV as it operates at maximum possible speed without having to change BPMs. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Hi Ralph, won't it affect what is composed? Playback I could see, but I think Dali_S is referring to when JS actually is generating the song parts on the first pass. That seems to be the whole purpose of the Limb control AI. |

Timing of the limb AI is based on positional data and BPM, not a real-time measurement. Therefore, a full-speed mixdown will be processed the same as real-time.
In contrast, playing at a higher BPM WILL CHANGE limb processing. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I was in fact referring to "JS initial composition" or first pass..
