|
|
I just upgraded to Jamstix 3, and installed the standard kit plus the XL pack, and I have some kits that don't load after installing the paks.
It was a clean install as I this is a new 64bit system (Windows 8.1) on which I couldn't install JS2 previously.
I had to launch my host (Ableton Live) as Administrator to be able to load the paks, but all of them loaded successfully. When I tried running JS3 later it wouldn't load any kits, so I had to run it as Admin (any workaround to this as JS is the only plug that requires me to do this?).
When I did run it as Administrator most of the kits would load, but some wouldn't. The ones that wouldn't load are:
The Addictive Drums kit
The BFD kit
The Steven Slate kits
The Toontrack kits
There is no error when I try to load them, but when I play a song using the kits there is no sound from any piece of the kit as if the samples haven't loaded.
Any reason why these kits wouldn't load, or suggestions as to what I can do to fix this? |

| All of the kits you listed are midi out only. They are used to drive the various associated vstis. |

I'm not sure I follow. I could use the MIDI out without selecting one of those kits and trigger another VST. What is the benefit of listing them as kits?
Still not sure if there's a simple workaround to having to load my host as Administrator though. |

The benefit is just that the kits are already MIDI mapped for you. Personally, I deleted the kits for the drum plug-ins I don't have.

You can avoid run-as-admin if you set the permissions on the Jamstix3 folder to 'Everyone' read/write. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

OK, that makes sense. Simple, but I didn't think of it...
Thanks Ralph |
