I am using the big kit, and when i play a midi track thru it, i get a real hard harsh snare sound. When i click the snare with the mouse it sounds normal, but the midi hits cause a very harsh over tight sound that just will not work. Is this a velocity issue, and if so how to adjust it.

What is the velocity for the snare in the MIDI file?
Also, try 'shaving off' the top of the velocity map for the Snare in the kit editor.
