I've bought all versions of JS for years...
After every new version download, I spend a few unsuccessful hours trying to get into the software and always end up using one of the static patterns on my other old drum machines.
Unfortunately my hopes to be able to get a useable jamming virtual drummer are in vain. To this day, I haven't been able to get the thing to start jamming with a few simple settings.
I've watched the videos which seems real easy, but impossible to get anything easily by myself...
Is it just me or others are also struggling to get anything useful with JS ?
I find the interface may be good looking but as a useability point of view very difficult to make sense of the settings...
Any more videos available that explain simply how to get Jamstix to JAM ?
Thanks ! |

What is it that you cannot do?
What you mean by 'jamming'?
If you select a drummer, a basic style and press play in your host, the drummer will compose a part for you.
What the 'Jamming' bit does is alter the drummer's playing style according to your input (audio level if using that to control it) or the 'power' level using the knob.
The other major feature of JS is that the drummer can be encouraged to use diff drums, hit strengths etc. etc. by making simple changes to the brain.
Maybe thats not what you mean by 'Jamming'? |
