I have the 3.5.1 Beta installed, and the manual is for 3.5.0, so I don't know how relevant that is.
Anyway, in section 12.9.5 "Editing Groove Weights," the manual says that right-clicking on a tick brings up a variety of options, and the picture shows the menu that should appear. In fact, this menu only appears when I left-click on a tick.
Furthermore, in the next section "Forcing Hits And Silence," the manual states that if I left-click on a tick I can cycle through the various modes (forced hit and forced silence). But as already stated, left-clicking on a tick brings up the groove weight menu. As such, I now have no idea how to cycle through the modes because neither right clicking or left clicking achieves this.
This is one of a few errors and inconsistencies I have come across in the manual and it's making it extremely frustrating to learn Jamstix. Is this because controls have changed from 3.5.0. to 3.5.1? If so, is it worth me uninstalling 3.5.1 and installing 3.5.0. for the purposes of working through the manual?
EDIT: I have just noticed that the menu contains "Beat is a hit" and "Keep beat silent." Am I then right in assuming that the forced hit/silence modes are now only accessible from this menu, and not by clicking on ticks? |
