Add 1 crash at the start of a pre-existing 4 bar part?

Ok, I'm a newb.

I have a 4 bar part as I like it, each bar locked.

I want to add a crash to the beginning of the part.

I have tried fiddling with the "start crash" box selected, but I do not know how to apply this to the bar I want without adding an entire fill to the bar?

This is just my first hour with JS, but I think I have gathered that the bar display changes, to show only what is modified/created relative to the groove/accent/fill buttons indicate? A feature request would be "color bar editor differently to indicate groove/accent/fill mode" and have those buttons match color wise, so that in one's peripheral vision you could see by color what mode one is in.

I'd add the crash manually to the ACCENT tab of the first bar.
