I am running ableton live 6 and it seems that after upgrading to version 2.1 of jamstix, running battery 3 as a subhost within that causes the sounds to lose their umph. Almost as if it had once had a 24 bit sound but now after the upgrade it is 16 bit... Weird. Yet when I run Battery 3 within its own midi channel it sounds fine, like they way it used to sound before I upgraded. Do you know what could be causing this?
Thanks for any help. |

I bet you're running higher than 44.1 kHz. There is a bug in JS2 that causes many subhosted plugs to always run in 44.1 I will send you a fixed DLL in a few minutes. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

That worked. Thank you very much Ralph. And I have to say the quickness of your response and follow up really is unprecedented. I have not ever seen any company provide such great support. You've surely won a long time fan here.
Thanks again.

Hi,
I have new, enhanced mappings for NI Battery 3 (Factory Library Acoustic Kits), Kontakt (Factory Library Acoustic Kits) and Abbey Road Drums (60s, 70s, 80s and Modern). You can download them from:
http://www.power-xs.net/download/JS3_Battery.zip
http://www.power-xs.net/download/JS3_Kontakt.zip
http://www.power-xs.net/download/JS3_Abbey_Road_Drums.zip
How to use:
1. Unzip the files and move the folders into your Jamstix data folder in the subfolder "kits".
2. When you open Jamstix the mappings shoud be available. Please note: All plugin and patch data has been removed from the mapping-files. You can instantly use them when triggering Battery and/or Kontakt via MIDI out of Jamstix. Otherwise, you need to load the respective plugin and open the corresponding patch.
Have fun!
Cheers, drjee |

I recently figured out how to work Jamstix (3) with Battery (3). And, I could not find any useful tips/solutions. So, I thought I post mine here. This turned out being really easy.
Note: I am using Studio One, now, so I'm referring to the MIDI tracks (i.e. non-audio) as instrument tracks. (Yes, I got rid of Cubase!)
1) Open an instrument track for Jamstix.
2) Send the Jamstix output to MIDI; Mixer->Standard (left-hand corner)->Send output to MIDI channel
3) Set Jamstix as OUT in your host; set channel # (e.g. 10)
3) Open up an instrument track for Battery; select drums to be used.
4) Set Battery as your OUT in your host; set channel # (e.g. 10)
5) Set Jamstix as your IN in your host; set channel # (e.g. 10)
Note: I've also got my Jamstix instrument track set to mute, as I was picking up Jamstix drums with the Battery drums.
Most will be opening up Jamstix regularly- to edit/etc -so you'll need to select Jamstix as the output for your Jamstix channel (in your host). I also set the channel to match the Battery.
In summary, open two instrument tracks. Associate them as described. Battery Track= Battery OUT; Jamstix IN; Jamstix Track = Jamstix OUT. Just set them all to the same channel (e.g 10). And, do not forget to send the Jamstix output to MIDI- very important!
Cheers! |
