I've just started using Jamstix and I've noticed a couple of small problems.

1) I've created a stripped down kit to use with BFD Eco, and often when I switch between Jamstix and BFD Eco in Reaper, when I come back to Jamstix, the kit has been re-arranged. For example one of the rides will be way off in the upper corner, or two of the toms are not quite where I put them.

2) I'm using an an 8th Rock - Charlie groove and there are sometimes "missing" beats. A certain measure will skip the snare and hi hat on beat 3. But if I look in the compose area, it's there, and if I stop the song and start from that measure it will play. That beat is just intermittently silent for a very small number of measures.

I'm running 3.5, no beta and no extra paks. Thanks!

Hi and welcome.
In reference to your first issue, I described a similar issue here...
http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6627
Maybe you could read it and see if it helps.

In reference to your second problem, is there a red "X" through the hits that are skipped? If so, put your mouse over them and down at the bottom, there will be an explanation as to why the hit was skipped. Sometimes, the drummer skips them "on purpose". For instance, "Stewart" has a brain element called "Skipped Kicks". Look in the brain elements and see if there is something like that.

Thanks for replying so quickly. Your tip for the first problem helped out - if I add another cymbal, sure enough the one that was jumping to the upper left stops doing that. I still can't place my toms exactly where I think they should be, but I suppose if they're all in reach then it's fine.

No luck with the second issue. The notes that are missing are not crossed out. What I've noticed is that the same measure will skip a snare if I play the song from the beginning, but if I pause playback after the measure with the problem and play it back from there, the skipped note is magically back. I also turned off "skipped hats" for that part and the hat plays, but not the snare. Kind of weird, but the audio seems to render correctly in the end.

Ralph has acknowledged the first issue is a bug and will look into it.

The second issue, now that I think about it, could also be a time signature problem. Make sure the time signature (and any changes) in your host exactly match the parts in Jamstix. If it gets "out of sync" at any point, it will not play full bars and behaves somewhat like you are describing. If that's not it, I am sure Ralph will help you after the weekend. The support is excellent.

I bet that's the issue. The time signature is 4/4 all through the song, but the BPM changes a little every measure, as it's something my band recorded live without a click.
