Anybody else experiencing the dropdown menus appearing on the second monitor when Jamstix GUI is on the first...man alive its frustrating!
Any workarounds? |

EDITED:
Yes. I have this happening here also. My monitors are arranged such that the second monitor is to the right and raised such that the bottom of monitor #2 is halfway up monitor #1.
Now when I open the GUI on #1, the drop downs are normal. When I open the GUI on #2, SOME of the drop downs open BELOW the top of monitor #1. They are still in the correct HORIZONTAL position (immediately to the right) but at a VERTICAL position that is down lower. Specifically, on the Song tab, ANY of the style or player brain elements that have drop-down boxes (like the style and player presets) appear down toward the bottom (specifically below the TOP of the main monitor). Also, if I right-click on a "hit" in the bar editor or on a kit piece in the Kit display, the INITIAL menu is right there, but any submenus appear toward the bottom (again, below the top of the main monitor). For example, if I right-click on a cymbal in the kit display, the first menu, which has "Change Sound" on it appears in the correct position, but the next two submenus, with "16"", and then "Crash - 14" Fast A DP2" appear much lower.
What is the effect? Nothing I can't work with. For one, navigating to the submenus takes getting used to because you have to move the mouse directly to the right first (into blank space) and THEN move down to the submenu. Another problem (which I am not sure there is anything Jamstix can do about) is if a submenu drops below the bottom of monitor #2, it is not visible AT ALL. That is because Windows draws a large "real estate" around both monitors but because they are staggered the upper left area and lower right areas are not displayed anywhere. When this happens I just drag the entire GUI to a higher position.
As far as I can tell, the only workaround would be to tell Windows that your upper monitor is actually BESIDE the main monitor. The drawback is that to get your mouse to that monitor you would have to move over to the side until it appears on the upper monitor, which would seem unnatural.

Thanks for that Jas_lan
My monitor 1 is below monitor 2...With my DAW on the bottom my plugins go on top...when i want to "change sound" in the bar editor, the drop down menu opens on the top of my bottom screen, no matter where the Jamstix GUI is located on the top screen...yep, as i said, frustrating,
C'mon Ralph...you can do it! |

The 3rd party interface components used in JS 3.5 (cross-platform and 32/64bit) are not multi-monitor smart, yet. We are working on work-arounds as well as hoping for a fix by the 3rd party. This is just unexpected additional work we need to fit into the schedule. Sorry guys! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph. For me, it is not much of a problem and I can work with it.
