And why not on iOS ?
Too late, there is already DrumJam, very close to the JamStix feeling ...
So, I'm answer me if it should be fastest getting DrumJam on OSX ! |

I looked at DrumJam, looks great but it does not seem anywhere near as flexible as Jamstix. It's basically a loop mixer with FX and kit playable by midi. Jamstix is a different beast altogether. |

What I would like to see is some type of commitment that this will be done or that it won't be done. If it's not going to be done then we can all move on. If it is going to be done then make this a priority and just get it done. I realize that this is easier said than done but this is getting to be a bit ridiculous. If I performed like this in my job I would have been fired a long time ago. |

We are still working on it and we are sorry for the time it is taking, which is also why this will be a free update to all JS3 owners.

And that, is why its not here yet. Thanks Ralph for the explanations. I too am wanting this but I also want it to work as well as the PC version. Keep us informed of the status from time to time, is all I will request from you. And THANKS!!! |

I don't bother asking that question anymore.
I even have a hard time with the Windows version on my PC laptop. After I tried the beta versions that are so bugged they're useless I uninstalled everything and went back to the 3.5.0 version and I'm still having problems I never had before. I don't want to bother asking Ralph about these because I want him to put more time on the MAC version. It's getting to the point where I have to go back to Superior Drummer Grooves and I hate that. And I haven't found anything on the market that's even remotely comparable to Jamstix. |

Hi, thanks for your direct words.
I've been hoping for any change for month, but nothing really working seems to happen.
I've got for sure a lot of respect for what Jamstix is and does and I'm still not looking for something else, because something else can't do, what Jamstix does.
But, we're waiting for more than two years now for a progress in any way.
More than a year ago I've suggested to take someone with knowledge of OSX into the team, because reprogramming everything is ceartainly hard. Even if it would come out to have to pay again for an outstandig program.
As you said, I'm even sick of waiting for any working release.
Very sorry for that, but still all my thumbs and more are up for Jamstix, cause there is nothing to compete with.
So, let things go on Ralph. We know, you can do it !!
Greetings
Michael |

There is nothing else like Jamstix and the intellectual knowledge that has gone into it makes it something very special. Unfortunately Rayzoon is a very small team. So we are lucky that it even exists at all really and some day it may not exist anymore, we all need to accept the fact that big developers haven't been willing to take this on and Ralph hasn't made a million bucks on it either...so thank you Ralph for continuing to develop it on any platform at all and hope you can keep going for years to come.
From Ralph's messages, its clear they are working on it. It was a big leap for them to add mac. They had to refactor a lot of stuff with their small team. Its clear they have spent a lot of time already, so I'm quite sure they will get it done and get it out eventually. Its frustrating I know, I have also been waiting for OSX version for long time, well ever since I moved to mac in 2010.
In the meantime, the JamstixWine thing I made does work pretty decently to get the job done on a mac while Rayzoon continues to work on a true mac version that will run as a plugin. |

Hi Dewdman42,
I'm with you and your opinion for sure. Jamstix is and will be an outstandig tool and I will use it (I hope so) for years to come.
As said, there is nothing to compete with it and that is why I love it and keep it.
To blame myself I've never tried the workaround with JamstixWine, but will give it a shot shortly.
And, for that every user here may hate me, raise the price to get the money needed to implement tools from other developers for OSX to get it done.
For me it is worth the money, as I understood, that Ralph has to use 3rd-party-tools for Interface etc.
And at least you qoute, give me a bass-player. Here I am |

Hey Ralph!
Any chance that this the OS X version may be nearing a more open public Alpha/Beta? I'm working on a song right now for the first time in LONG time (think a few years) and I don't think I've ever been in need of Jamstix as much as I am right now.
I haven't tried the Wine solution mentioned in the other thread though. I'm on Mountain Lion and using Studio One in 64bit mode. Based on what I was reading..... Sounds like a pain in the rear. |

| its not a pain. Some people reported initially they had problems, but the problem was not ML it was the latest version of JackOSX. But there is a solution for that too, and its not that hard. |

the problem isn't Lion or mountain lion. The problem people are experiencing is related to JackOSX 0.90 and wineasio, which is a component within wine that makes asio audio possible.
Basically, wineasio needs to see certain jack libs in a certain path. Wineasio was broken by Snow Leopard, when the location of certain libs changed. A sym link fix made wineasio work with SnowLeopard.
Lion and ML did not change that, but JackOSX 0.90 did make a change which again broke compatibility with wineasio. There is an easy sym link fix which will again fix things so that wineasio will work with JackOSX 0.90.
I know one guy that just installed 0.89 JackOSX with ML and it seemed to work, but my understanding is that JackOSX 0.90 has important changes for Lion and ML, so its better to use 0.90 and do this sym link fix.
You can read the sym link fix at this following thread on this forum and there is more explanation about it there too:
http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=38265#38265
I am still on 10.6, but several people told me its working for them on Lion and ML. So give it a shot. At least you can make some drum tracks while we wait for the real OSX version of Jamstix. |
