Is there a way to cause a fill to be played at any time?

Hello - I have a part of the song where the music abruptly goes down and then a few very short almost a capella vocal phrases spread over a bar or two. I'd like to have brief tasteful (HA!) fills between each vocal phrase.

The only way I can think of how to do that is to artificially call each vocal phrase a "part" in the song editor, and then tick the "transition fill" box. Which makes for a messy song menu!

Is there a better way?

Thanks!

Thanks for the question, and thanks for the answer! JS just keeps getting better and better for me....

Let's say I have a normal bar, then I make it a fill in the manner described above. If I want to change it back to a normal bar, is the proper procedure just to select the fill tab, and press the trash can? That seems to work, but I'm asking if that's the preferred process.

Yes, that is correct.

In FILL mode, while on the undesired fill, click the trash can in the bar editor.
