|
Hey Ralph and Steve - 1st wanted to say thanks to you guys (especially you Ralph) for getting me up and running - I am getting closer everyday and I think I am ready to start getting some tracks down.
As you know I use Sonar PE 4.02 as a host with Jamstix & Battery 2. I am ready to get some wav files down. I like to isolate each instrument on a track for mixing later - I can do this in Batt 2 by assigning each sound to an output in the Battery GUI (Thanks Steve b - I have 2 maps already!!).
Question - What is the "bounce to track" procedure here? Before - I would have bounced each track individually but since I am now using an JS arrangement on a single midi track - I need to get a quick how to.
I searched the forum but I was little confused as it seems there are several different ways - 1 of them was the "toggle" function - This one seems to make the most since to me but it seems I would still need to render each bounce 1 by 1 to get the isolation - Maybe I am way off here(surprise, surprise) but would appreciate the help - Thanks (sorry for long post) |

If you are using Jamstix with B2 inside of Jamstix, then I'd simply freeze Jamstix to get the WAV file. If B2 is outside of Jamstix then I'd use the Sonar bounce function on the required tracks.
Also, if you need to bounce but are using Jamstix with velocity being controlled by MIDI or audio, I recommend playing the whole arrangement once, then switching to manual mode and using 'Toggle Locks' to freeze the arrangement. This is because Sonar bounce/freeze functions may not send the MIDI or audio data to the Jamstix inputs during the operation. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph but let me make sure i understand something here - If I just "freeze" Jamstix - How will I get wave file that is able to be EQ and edited - I thought that the freeze function simply froze the midi track & the DXI or VSTI outputs. I don't think those audio outputs are able to processed like audio tracks- are they?
Thanks mate |

Freezing produces audio clips in the audio output tracks which you can FX right there or copy to other audio tracks for processing. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph- I read the manual for Sonar but I cant figure out why whe I freeze tracks - Everything is bound down to one track.
What i want to get is the kick, snare, hats, etc. on seperate tracks - I know you use Sonar so I thought I would ask - Do I need to use the "FreezeSynth" as oppossed to "Freeze Tracks" option to accomplish this?
I know this is not JS related so if you do not have time to mess with this no prob> |

Yes, use freeze synth. It will give you a separate audio clip for each synth audio ouput. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
