Hi, I am new to JS but quickly getting familiar with it. I am not a drummer but I get good results immediately.
I have a question though. What is the best drummer to mimic a kind of Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) drumming.
I love his unagitated style. A straight groove and lots of good toms and ride work. So if someone could give me a hint on that....it would be appreciated.

Hi.
That's a good request. I am also very interested in a Mason style.

I've been able to achieve pretty good results for the "verse" parts selecting the halftime option for Rock 8th styles. Sorry, I can't remember too much details.. I also am a new user.

However, it is for the "lots of good toms" you mentioned that I am not satisfied enough. I am not able to find and/or configure Mason style fills..

So, +1 for your question.

I tried to listen to his drumming. I am able to create a groove in that style.
The most important thing is not to play to many notes and nearly no 16th notes ( on hihat if any). I have created a basic pattern that I am satisfied so far.
But when I try to spice it up it immediately runs out of control, always to many notes and sophisticated twiddling...hm...

I too miss some good "basic" drummers from the sixties / seventies like Mason, Ringo, John Densmore, Al Jackson, Jr., Doug Clifford, to mention a few.

Whistler: import the 'Simplifier' control from 'Charlie. It filters out 16th notes when things get too much.

I have the "Charlie" model activated already, but the simplifier does not do that much.
What I also want to ask is - given that I try to mimic Nick Mason - he often uses Rides in a normal Verse, JS seems to use it only in Chorus.
Is it possible to have the rides activated instead of the Hihats

Two ways:

a) REDIRECTION HIHAT->RIDE at 100%

or

b) POWER HAND - Min Power set to 0
