If I may , I would really like to know how you recorded , what mics you were using and who played the Udu Utar ?
|
The Udu was recorded with two Rode NT2-A about two feet in front/above the Udu and about a foot between the mics (head width). An AKG D112 was positioned about a foot in line with the side hole to capture the bass.
It was "played" by me but, as you know, all I had to do was do the six hit types at various velocity levels. No actual playing. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

[EUCLID]
Uses the Euclidean algorithm to generate Jamstix and Jamcussion rhythms. Can also create some wild polyrhythms.

I will not be able to resist this one !
Ralph, tell me if I'm wrong, but 6 months ago you din't knew this algo-rythm (mandatory pun) existed. Right?

Personally, I heard of Euclidean rhythms last year, looked at it, worked a bit on it and then put it on the wish list. Then, IIRC, someone posted here in January and that's when I pulled it out as there seemed to be some interest for it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I don't think anybody could possibly exhaust all the possibilities, that this pack provides.

Wow Ralph! These new paks add a whole new dimension to what Jamstix can do. I am seriously impressed.
I will be interested to see how editable the 12/8 rhythms are in "Flamenco". I hear the Bulerias stressed beats starting at the beginning of each group (3, 3, 2, 2, 2), and the Soleares will be stressed at the end of each group. Seguiriya starts on beat 8 of a Soleares pattern. It all depends where the 12 beat pattern starts - so I guess it depends on choosing the right beat for the beginning of the bar? |

Yes, we had a heck of a time with start and end ticks. This Pak is a starting place but we'll revisit this in the future if enough people buy the Pak and there is interest for more in-depth logic. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Great stuff in these new styles and kits Ralph. Great to see the palette of Jamstix continuing to expand into new territories like this. |

I would have bought the bundle, but in my rush to get the 3 paks I most wanted I didn't see the bundle offer at the bottom of the page
The Udu and the players seem to be working fine, but I can't get any of the flamenco sounds to appear. They seem to be triggering correctly but no sound? I must be missing something. |
