Ok really simple setup and I can not get JS to record inside of Cubase. Im sure its my end, but what am i doing wrong?
1. Start Cubase
2. right click on gray area and add instrument track
3.Under more plugins, pick jamstix 35
4. click on add track
5. Click on edit instrument, and it brings the JS3 vst up.
6. Pick a drummer, a kit, a style and create song within JS.
7. Click on Record in cubase.
8. Jamstix runs, I hear sounds, cubase starts recording, but there is no midi data on the track...?
9. Click the stop pad after a bit and the empty track in cubase that was recording no data, disappears...

Are you using 64 bit Cubase? If so, I don't think the MIDI works with the 32 bit version and the Cubase bridge. You could either use jBridge or the 64 bit version out now.

Yes, im using the 64 bit version of cubase and just downloaded the new 3.5 version of JS 64 bit. I wondering now if cubase uses jamstix differently than Sonar X2? In that with Sonar X2 we can use/record jamstix on the track in real time while listening to it play, while in cubase 6.5.4 we can only import the midi track?? Is this correct? Is this why I cant treat Jamstix in cubase Like I do in X2? Or is it that Im doing something wrong inside of cubase? |

I would have to know more about how you are using Jamstix in Cubase. Are you using an instrument track or loading Jamstix via the VSTi rack? Do you have a MIDI track connected to Jamstix? Don't know anything about Sonar.

Are you record arming the track?
Separate from "record" on the transport bar, each track needs to be "armed" for recording.
Oh wait, I just realized... An instrument track is initially set up for the MIDI track to send MIDI TO the instrument. In this case, you want the MIDI to go from the instrument TO the track. Check on that.
