I'm using Cubase Studio 4 and just purchased Jamstix3. I installed it correctly and Jamstix was working properly until I tried to record a MIDI track.
I uploaded my own MIDI beat that rode on a closed hi hat 8th notes>processed it with a Jamstix drummer>hit record and suddenly the hi hat was open. I muted the MIDI track so that only the Jamstix module was playing and it was open there too.
I closed Jamstix and booted the host vst, opened the GM drum map and everything was correct except the hi hat which was way down on some random unassigned patch.

I closed everything, rebooted, repeated the process with the exact same result. Loaded the beat, processed it, sounds great, hit record....open hi hat nightmare.
Im stumped, hope some can help though Im probably the only one on the planet still using CB 4.
Thanks,
Jake

If C4 has a 'reset controller' option somewhere, disable it so it does not send a zero-value CC4 event (pedal open).

Thanks for the quick response. Host has a 'reset after recording' option, tried it checked and unchecked and nothing changed.
I also tried exporting the MIDI file, then importing to host. Same response, hi hat closed when exported, open after import even on the module.

I opened the MIDI map in the host and checked it against the key map in JS3. After recording/exporting, the hi hat beats end up on the D0 key, which is HI HAT SHANK OPEN #26 D0 in JS3 key map.
Thanks again.

Can you do a 'Save Song' of this project in JS3 and send me the file?

Checking in to verify you received the files, I sent them to both support addresses.
Thanks.

Mark, does this problem go away if you check "Reverse Hihat Controller" in the JS3 Options?

Ralph,
I re-installed SP3 for WinXP on a hunch and it's solved the 'press record, open hi hat nightmare' problem.
However, I'm using 'Carmine' for that particular project and while they're closed hi hat beats....they still end up in an unassigned patch in the MIDI drum map which is fine unless I try to use one of my other drum modules. I'm using 'Steve' for a different project and the hi heat beats end up in the correct place in the map. Im assuming that because Carmine shanks the hi hat....it just is the way it is.
Also, I tried loading some of the pre-arranged songs...a few of them will not load.
Been busy w/ dayjob so Im going to keep working with JS3 in the next few days and see if I can figure out whats up.
Thanks again.

Carmine has a 'Hihat Shank' brain control, which you can set to 'None'.
