I thought it helpful to share with all how I use Jamstix and hope you will post how you use it to make music. By doing so it could be helpful to Ralph and the community....
OS - Win 7 64 bit
DAW - Cubase 6 64 bit
Sounds - BFD2...
I use Jamstix as a drum brain only as sounds come from BFD. I record the midi output in Cubase and modify/tweak as necessary in the Cubase drum midi editor.
What I'd like to see is Ralph offer a midi brain only version in 64 bit without EQ, Compressors etc, just drummer controls, song configiration, and if possible for the groove a similar Jamstix 1 grids including the old tom grid for cool bridges and synco parts.
Thanks Ralph for the great program! |

I've got a hunch I won't be using Jamstix the way I have been, when the 64 bit stuff is sorted. 64 bit jamstix, Live 9 and Roland V drums FTW |

I would love this. While Jamstix is great if you simply need a drumline composed in a particular genre, the moment you need to do any hand editing I would rather do it in my DAW. This is going to happen if you have synchronized playing between the drums and other instruments by design, which is not uncommon.
Perhaps a MIDI only version that has a set of mappings to the various drum VSTs out there as well as a GM mapping to be used as a fallback in the event that the person doesn't have a drum VST. |

I'll pile on here and add to the request for making styles and AI components available separately as well for those of us who use JS to drive other drum modules. For example, I'd love to get the Bonzo pack for the ten new styles, but I'm not really interested in all the extra drum stuff..so it's hard for me to justify the price.
And while I'm at it...more drummers and styles in the future would always be welcomed with open arms.
Ever thought of a dual drummer mode that plays off of each other? Like the Allman Brothers or Grateful Dead? |
