Why does the ride hit play a ride bell?

This has stymied me in all the years I've had Jamstix. I put ride hits, and it will randomly play ride bells. Every time I play the song, it will do it in different places.

Keep in mind I'm a guitarist, and a not too bright one at that so...

Using Samplitude 11, Windows 7 64 bit, jamstix 3.3.0

There is a brain element that controls the likelihood of a ride hit being a bell. Or, it may also be a power setting, for example, above a certain power point the hit will be a bell.
