Ralph,
Now that it's MIDI out only, how can we control things that were formerly set in the subhost section of the jamstix3.ini file, with a section named after the DLL? For instance, I had the following for BFD2 to set the MIDI notes of the cymbal chokes:
[BFD2]
CH_15=58
CH_16=15
CH_19=57
CH_20=14
CH_22=59
CH_23=16
It seems like we would need at least some kind of global [MIDI Out] section to control those things, although some people may use more than one drum module and still need multiple sets of options. Or maybe there's already some way to do it that I'm unaware of.
I think that the most flexible way to handle this would be to make it part of the kit definition in the GUI, along with the setting to control use of CC4 for hihat and any other settings that were previously per-DLL.

The solution is the new key map files that will come with the next Beta. They include choke settings etc that were previously stored in the ini file. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ah, cool, that should work well. I figured you already had a solution in mind for this, but I just wasn't sure if it was already there and I was missing it. |

| Are there any tutorials or threads out there that will jump start this switch from subhosting to MIDI out? |

It's quite simple:
1 load JS and your other plugin separately into your host
2 add a MIDI track with input=Jamstix and output=Other Plugin (in some hosts you put them sequentially in the same track, i.e. REAPER)
3 check MIDI OUT ONLY in JS3 mixer so the internal samples are not loaded _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thank you. Just tried it and it was easier than I anticipated. |

I just wanted to tell you that there are MANY people who visit here very often, who do not write a thing, in hopes of seeing these new magical files we all want from you and the team. In other words, THANKS for burning the midnight oil on these updates Ralph.... |

After deleting quite a few parts from a song I was reworking, Beta 10 started to complain with "List Out of Bounds (10)" when I right clicked on another part. I figured that saving the song, clearing it and reloading it might straighten things out, but no such luck.
Oddly, I wasn't able to export a proper MIDI file of the song. Not all the parts would be included in any given export and each time I tried I got a different result. Recording the MIDI output on an adjacent track seems to be working.
Ableton Live 8.4b6
(At the time this occured, I had two JamStix running in Live) |

Running two instances can cause problems. Was this with 3.3 or 3.5? _________________ Ralph Zeuner
