Hey guys - I'm trying to check out the demo of Jamstix and I can't find it anywhere. I install it, and it tells me to use the icons to launch Jamstix. There are no icons on the desktop or anywhere in the installed directory. I thought maybe it's a plug-in only, so I went to Reaper and looked in my plug-ins. No matter how much I clear the cache and re-scan, I only see the audioM8. I see a Jamstix3demo.dll file in the root directory, but I have had no success in getting that to show up in Reaper. I put audioM8 on a track, and it simply gives an audio input VU meter. It does not generate a drum track or open any other UI.

I looked over and scanned the Jamstix3demo directory pretty extensively to find any sort of executable file, but there is none. The "Rayzoon Jamstix 3 demo" folder in my Start menu only has three options, "Jamstix 3 midi layout" (an image file showing a keyboard interface map), and the Quickstart and User Manual PDFs.

Please help, I'd love to check the software out! I feel pretty baffled; I'm a pretty computer savvy guy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Jamstix has to be run in a host, it is a vsti plugin. Add the path for the demo .dll to your Reaper plugin path and rescan.

That's what I thought, I just can't get it to show up. No matter how much I clear the cache and re-scan, I only see the audioM8. I see a Jamstix3demo.dll file in the root directory (through Windows Explorer), but I have had no success in getting that to show up in Reaper. Any advice?

Are you looking in the VSTi section? It’s an instrument, not an effect.

I am running same Reaper 64-bit version and JS3 only loads if Reaper is pointed to 32-bit VSTi. I have all 32-bit in __ Program Files (x86)\vstplugins.
(all 64-bit in Program Files\vstplugins). Once scanned in it works fine.

I hate to say it, but this is all the stuff I've been doing. I've also tried doing it all over again, I've re-downloaded and re-installed several times. Can I get a confirmation from Rayzoon mgmt. that the demo is 100% compatible with the latest version of Reaper?

I can't recall an issue with JS3 Demo running in Reaper 4 64-bit. a short time back. No issues either with JS3XL.

Jamstix installs on the Root drive ( C:\ in my case). I had to tell the install to place the __ jamstix3.dll __ in __ Program Files (x86)\vstplugins

Yes, JS 3.3.0 runs fine in REAPER. Please double-check the search path in REAPER.

Just wanted to let everyone know I got it working - thanks! Pretty impressed. I didn't do anything differently, I just kept at it, and some combination of rebooting/reinstalling/rescanning made something click.
