Excellent stuff. Really great for amateurs and professionals alike, great job!
Some I'm wrapping my mind around it and in the quickstart guide it says:
"when the style preset is at ‘Default’ but Jamstix finds presets that start
with the letter of the part type (i.e. “[X] Keep It Cool” in a Breakdown) then it will randomly select one of those presets. This means that, wherever available, song builder automatically chooses style presets designed specifically for the current part type."
So it will randomly pick a style for X(in the above instance) from the whole folder of presets? Does that mean my virtual drummer might go into a flamenco breakdown during a punk song? I'm a little confused about this feature.
Thanks,
Dave |

The presets only apply to the selected style. Example:
Let's say the style "My Rock" has these two presets:
[X] Break 1
[X] Break 2
If you use 'My Rock' in the song builder and your song structure has an X (for breakdown) in it, Jamstix will choose one of the two X presets for that style for any breakdown part. It will NOT use X presets from OTHER styles. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I have never really even looked at the "presets". I need to take advantage of that. It sounds like they are slightly modified settings of existing styles. Somewhat like a user "Snapshot" where the user takes an existing patch (from the factory library) and adjusts it a little and saves it as a "Snapshot".
I will have to experiment with it tonight.

Correct. You can also create your own with 'Save Style Preset' in the brain menu. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I was looking at the presets last night. Are they only available as subsets of styles in the song builder? I didn't see a way to, for example, just select a style for a part and select the presets from there (without "building" a song). Maybe I am looking at the wrong thing. What I am looking at is, in the song builder, to the right of the style, where it says "Default" you can choose some other options, like "No Snare", "Tom", etc.

The groove part of the brain displays all available presets in the top-left corner. If you don't see it then that particular style doesn't have presets. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

So "presets" are variations of a style, that are contained within that master style?
Are these also where you would insert the [X] or [C] notes when naming them for it to know when to switch among those various presets for the song structure? |

"Presets" are saved setting states of the same style, either provided by us or saved by you. And, yes, you can use [X] etc. in your own preset names. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
