Thanks Ralph

1 ...is the cpu hit supposed to be (that) high...or are you trying to give me options because of the cpu i have in my pc?

2. I am using 12 channels for the drums, do recommend i go to 8..

3. "drive SSD4 in the host with the MIDI output rather than sub-hosting"and yes, i will need help doing thanks...

Try this:

- load a project with JS3/SSD4 that has the high CPU hit
- open SSD4 GUI in JS3 and save the kit to a file
- in JS3 Options set Audio outputs to 8
- in JS3 mixer check 'MIDI OUT ONLY'
- save the project in the host to a new file
- reload the new project in the host
- add SSD4 to the host (not JS3) and load the saved SSD4 kit
- add a MIDI track with input=Jamstix and output=SSD4

It should now play normally and you can see if it uses less CPU.

ok, will try that...

but a question...why the sub-hosting feature?

is that primarily for faster cpu's?

i am having a problem doing this...

is the track with SSD4 on, different from the Midi track?

I think you're using REAPER in which case you simply put SSD4 as an FX after JS on the same track.
