Hello,
I currently try the demo of JS3.
ALL my plugins are automap wrapped.
ALL x32 plugins are jBridged.
So, I tried to find my way through JS3 demo automap wrapped and jBridged in Cubase 6 x64, Sonar X1 x64, Reaper 4 x64.
It seems that JS3 demo isn't really stable:
Cubase 6 x64: audio output is garbled rhythmically. Its a cool effect, but not quite what I want
In Sonar I got random hangs, even when trying the native x32 JS3 using BitBridge.
Reaper seems to work well, with some jBridge settings adjusted, however, the demo license dialog on instantiating JS3 demo is behind all windows. If you don't know that and bring it to the front and ok'ed it, you might think Reaper hangs...
What are YOUR experiences with Jamstix 3? What do you adjust, with which bridge in which host in order to have it stable? |

thanks.
I will experiment further and try to help track things down. Will send you the log afterwards along with some info...
at first, Reaper 4 x64:
Running JS jBridged. Without altering default jBridge options, Reaper seems to hang whenever JS would pop up a dialog, like the "demo MB vs GB kits notice", the note on closing/reopening the plugin" after changing to compact GUI etc...
These popups are allways processed "dark", i.e. the popups themselfs are not visible, there's no process/task visible, cause the popup dialogs are sent in jBridges auxhost process. When I kill Reaper, the dialogs become visible...
workaround: when I configure jBridge options for JS to use separate GUI, the dialogs come up, I can confirm them and JS/Reaper won't wait for the confirmation forever... |

Sonar X1 x64:
seems to work well with its BitBridge AND jBridge (launched from within Sonar X1 with default options...)
Played along, trying to make it hang again... no "luck", seems to work...
now on to cubase... |

*looooooooool*
I am so sorry Ralph... the "rhythmically garbled audio out glitching" was in fact a dblue_glitch plugin instance on the master in my "blank template" *lol* Don't know how this got stuck in my blank template...
Sorry!!! *lol* At first I thought it was JS demo noise somehow interfering...
Instantiating JS jBridged (with separate GUI!) however brings up the demo license popup, again behind all windows, at least with the auxhost task visible in the taskbar to bring it to the front and confirm it...
Without jBridges "separate GUI option" I get random hangs: It seems the "browser" graphics is a separate window in JS, which sometimes gets "behind the cubase graphics", sometimes now. If gets behind cubases screen area, theres no way to leave the browser, resulting in a "hang". If the browser is painted correctly, the main plug UI window seems to not get drawn, but only the browser window... I'll send you a screenshot along with the log file... |
