Just wondering if you have this working under Cubase 6.05?
For me it all seems OK up until playback, at which point Cubase crashes and disappears completely.
Cubase 6.05(64bit) / JS3.3 / SSD4 (32-bit .dll)
Should I perhaps be using Jbridge?? |

Perfection.
Ralph, I just wish that every product I owned was (i) so useful, (ii) so innovative and (iii) so well supported! |

For proper cymbal choking, add this section to your jamstix3.ini file:
[SsdSampler]
CC4=1
CH_15=13
CH_16=14
CH_19=16
CH_22=15 |
Is this still necessary even after installing the latest SSD4 kit maps?
I guess I am wondering if I am supposed to add something similar to JS3.ini for Superior2 choking as well? |

Yea I'm digging SSD4 and works well with JS3! Memory consumption of SSD4 is high and it does crash sometimes. Hopefully they will fix that over time. I'm not as satisfied with the hi hats on SSD4 as what I can get with superior2. But maybe I don't have CC4 setup right yet, not sure. But overall, SSD4 just has that processed sound, there is hardly anymore work to do for using it in a mix, its ready to go. With JS sounds or Superior sounds, there is a lot more to do,
BUT...I still prefer both JS3 sounds and Superior2 sounds if I am trying to make something sound really raw and live. |

Hi Ralph,
I see that these mappings are no longer available, but v3.5 has a "default" mapping. Is this usable for any SSD4 kit, or does there need to be tweaked versions for the various kits? Also, does the jamstix3.ini file need to be modified for SSD4 and JS3.5 to work together (e.g., cymbal choke, etc...).
Thanks in advance, and Happy New Year!

The new SSD4 kit mapping should be usable for any SSD kit and also takes care of all the things that were previously set via the ini file. Let me know if it gives you any problems. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I've set ssd4 mapping to "jamstix", but I notice some things are missing (2nd rack tom is sending A2, which is nothing in ssd4)... I've just discovered via this thread I can load "load key map"
(hey, here is a bug - I've got JS open in Reaper, and I had to go back to it to remember the menu for "load key map" under "kit", then I switched back to my Firefox window to post this...
... and I've got the drop down menu superimposed over my FF window; clicking and typing here isn't closing out the JS menu...)
Do I need to reset SSD4 back to a default for the JS slate key map to work? Sorry to be ponderous, I don't want to go off for another half hour to figure this out, or start doing something productive only to find I've got a half-crippled kit selection situation going on... |
