|
|
Hi,
My JS3 data directory is currently located at C:\Program Files (x86)\jamstix3\data. I would like to move it to a newly installed SSD for faster loading. Does anyone how to go about it?
Do I simply move the data directory? Do I have to reinstall paks?
Thanks for any hints,
Wolfgang |

| Just copy the Data folder to where you want it and then edit the entry in Jamstix.ini under General labeled DataPath= to point to your new directory. |

Thanks for the hint about jamstix3.ini.
In my case the .ini file existed but was empty except for an empty [General] section. I added the new path (ending with "data") but jamstix didn't find it. Maybe the "data" part of the path has to be omitted but before I could confirm that, I found out there's an even easier way:
Move the data folder to a new location.
Start your DAW (Cubase 6 in my case), insert jamstix3 as an instrument into the rack and assign it to a MIDI or instrument track.
Jamstix will complain about the missing data folder and ask you to point it to the new location. Bingo! |

OK..... we'll call that Plan B. Your .ini file is probably in your Vstplugin folder instead of C:\Jamstix. I had that happen on my system a while back |

You're right: The "real" .ini file is in my VSTPlugins folder, contains a lot of stuff, and Jamstix automatically entered the correct DataPath under [General] after asking me for it as described in my previous post.
Thanks again. |
