Hi,

Using the X4-18 beta. Testing out the new Live Loop indicator (CC40) and the Mode indicator CC41) indicators (man you move fast! I just posted the enhancement suggestion on tuesday! Smile). Seems to be working but not quite as I expected.

1. If I send a NOTE ON message (to switch the live loop) during the last measure of the loop, then the loop switch occurs but no CC40 update occurs. I've noticed that if you send the NOTE ON message during the last measure of the loop then (obviously) no fill occurs, but I would still expect the CC40 update to occur since the loop did switch.

2. When the green progress bar at the top of the arranger tab reaches the last measure of the loop and returns to the beginning of the loop the CC40 message goes out again. I was hoping that the CC40 message would only output when switching to a NEW loop. That way I can use Jamstix to trigger something specific when I go to the next section of a song. I can see where both ways have their advantages so I'm not sure what approach is best. How about a third message (CC42?) that only outputs on a true loop switch? If not, I think I can work around it in Bidule, but if you think it's a good idea, let me know.

Thanks again for the quick response.

We've put the CC40 logic in the 'repeat current loop' section rather than the 'jump to new loop' section. We'll fix that tomorrow.

Okay,

Testing X4-19, the live loop switch indicator is working exactly as I had imagined it (this is great!) except for one minor bug: the CC40 data value is staying at 0 instead of reflecting the live loop number as per your description. But the mode CC41 data value is changing when a fill occurs.

Almost there. Wink

Hello,

I tried beta 18 yesterday and inside tracktion it did not send midi notes to the following plugin.
The drum plugin i use is RM4 and i don't load it inside jamstix. I just put it after and use "Midi-out only" in rayzoon mapping.
It works with 1.2 and it is silent in beta 18.

Also, in tracktion when i'm, say bar 70, i cannot scroll in jamstix to the begining of the song.
That would be great to have tracktion cursor and rayzoon arrangement totally independent.

Thanks,

Xavier

To be honest, we didn't even test this feature because we're getting close to the planned 1.3 release and have some time pressure here so we're abusing you as a tester for this feature....hope you don't mind! Loop number will be fixed in next update.

I cannot duplicate this (using X4-19). Can you double-check this and also make sure you don't use the X4 demo by mistake?

The arrangements are independent while Jamstix is stopped. Use the Stop/Play button in Jamstix to switch.

Thanks a lot for the answers... Very Happy

With last beta the velocity was reset to 0% in my current project although it was around 80% (if i remember well) in 1.2 so i didn't hear it in the mix i listened to and i thought i did not work... Embarassed
I turn it up and It works fine.

When i stop jamstix, i can scroll where i want... It's better... Wink

Is there an quick way to copy a rythm pattern and paste it in an other one ? (except using save and load...)

Thanks again,

Xavier

If you mean copying the contents of one rhythm to another then you must use save/load rhythm. Is that what you meant?

Found a minor but semi-pernicious bug in Jamstix Beta X4-19. I've reproduced the problem in Tracktion 1.60 and Bidule 0.85 (latest version).

1. Add Jamstix plugin.
2. Define a live loop marker on the SECOND bar (not the first).
3. Enable live loop in the arranger tab.
4. Hit play on your host. Let jamstix cycle back to the beginning of bar 1.
5. Try to exit your host.

The Bidule Gui may or may not disappear completely but Task Manager shows that Bidule is still running. I have to end the Bidule process manually in Task Manager to make it go away.

In Tracktion, a dialog box appears indicating that "instruction blah blah referenced memory at address blah blah. The memory could not be read". Click ok and the application closes cleanly.

This isn't a problem if you set the live loop marker to the first bar. (I was skipping the first bar due to a 6/8 time signature - Jamstix usually blanks out the first bar when the meter is 6/8 ). My work around is to set up a blank loop on the first four bars.

I've got a simple bidule file that contains jamstix and a sync creator bidule that recreates the error. Let me know if you need it.

Thanks for the catch, we'll get that fixed.
