They sure do seem to work good together, but I like the Rayzoon XL kits better than the stock NI kits. I have joined the Ocean Way & Drum Masters group buy on eSoundz, with hopes that their kits sound better than both of these. If not, I'll be sticking with the Rayzoon kits and buying an extension or two.

|
|
Hi Ralph, I am having some problems sub-hosting Battery or Kontakt in Sonar 64 running under Windows 7 64 bit. Even though I insert the Battery or kontakt VST in Sonar, when I go to Jamstix and try to load the plugin so that I can sub-host it, I cannot see anything listed in the window that pops up. It just does not see any of the VSTs that I have loaded in Sonar. I have found a few oddities with the teleport server in Windows 7. There is also no navigation buttons in the load vst window. I wish I could add a screen shot here but I don't have a suitable location I can host an image. Any suggestions or is this a known problem?
Has anyone else managed to sub-host Kontakt in Windows 7 using Sonar Studio 8.5 running on Windows 7 64 bit?
Cheers! |

Subhosting under 64-bit can be a problem. I recommend you use MIDI routing instead. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Does Jamstix 3 work with Ocean Way Drums through Kontakt 4? I do not see it as an option?
I loaded the Steven Slate presets and it somewhat works except with Ocean Way the hi hats are missing. |

All you need to do is adjust the MIDI keys in JS to match OWD and save the kit. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I can't subhost Kontakt 5 with Jamstix 3 on my Windows 7 64-bit. I bought the Abbey Road Modern drum pack and now can't get it working. Someone please help. |

You cannot subhost a 64-bit plug in JS. Please do this instead:
- set JS3 mixer to 'MIDI OUT ONLY'
- add Kontakt/Abbey Road to the host
- add a MIDI track with input=Jamstix and output=Kontakt/Abbey Road _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I set a snare note as a double hit/stroke and I can hear the roll clearly when using Jamstix kits, but when I switch and use my Abbey Road drums, only the first snare hit is heard. It's like I can't program a fast drum roll. How can I fix this? |

Please make sure you have the correct snare ruff sound from Abbey Road Drums assigned to the 'Snare Bounce' articulation in JS3. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi,
I have new, enhanced mappings for NI Battery 3 (Factory Library Acoustic Kits), Kontakt (Factory Library Acoustic Kits) and Abbey Road Drums (60s, 70s, 80s and Modern). You can download them from:
http://www.power-xs.net/download/JS3_Battery.zip
http://www.power-xs.net/download/JS3_Kontakt.zip
http://www.power-xs.net/download/JS3_Abbey_Road_Drums.zip
How to use:
1. Unzip the files and move the folders into your Jamstix data folder in the subfolder "kits".
2. When you open Jamstix the mappings shoud be available. Please note: All plugin and patch data has been removed from the mapping-files. You can instantly use them when triggering Battery and/or Kontakt via MIDI out of Jamstix. Otherwise, you need to load the respective plugin and open the corresponding patch.
Have fun!
Cheers, drjee |
