howdy Zauni... one that I find still needed is this: [have to explain at bit]
since we can set a bar offset [thank you] to use in Cubase projects that have a matching offset [I offest by 4 bars so the first bar I see is -3] I think we need a way to deal with how the fill bars are counted.
My thought is that we could be able to tell JS to begin it's fill count at bar "X"... whatever - or + "X" would be.
As it is now, if the auto fill is set to 8 bars, JS starts that count at the beginning of the first "-" bar, you see? So the first fill plays at bar +4 and then at bar +12, etc. when what we actually want is for the fill to play on bars 8, 16, etc... see what I'm saying?
I do hope this can be done without too much hassle for you. |

Yep, it's on the list and should make it into one of the next betas. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Any chance we can get JS fixed so that we can do a DFHS bounce while Superior is subhosted in JS?
I tried running Fruity as a VSTi inside various hosts while Fruity subhosted Superior and was able to do the bounce under that scenario, so it appears to be a JS issue. |

New user here so if this is already availible or there is a work around let me know.
I'm using Jamstix in Bidule. I've got it running in LiveLoop mode and am able to switch between loops in the arranger based on note input. I love the way the loop ends on a fill and then transitions to the next loop.
Based on my own testing and the manual, Jamstix follows it's own SPP when in live loop mode. My problem is that I can't find a way to notify the host (or other plugins) when the fill occurs or when the loop will change. What this means is that Jamstix is basically transitioning by itself, so no other parts of the host's arrangement are able to follow live loop transitions.
So my request is that a special midi message ( CC or Note On) is send out of Jamstix Midi output whenever a fill/intro/ending begins and ends and whenever a loop transition occurrs. Then I can use this midi information to trigger other plugins (such as changing a patch on a synth when transitioning from the verse to the chorus loop).
Another way to do this (only in Bidule) would be for Jamstix to provide vst plugin parameter update information to bidule whenever the Mode parameter in the gui changes. Right now I can change the mode to intro/fill/etc but bidule doesn't detect it.
Does this make sense?
Thanks, |

Sending CC data to signal status info inside of Jamstix to the host is a neat idea. We'll add this to the list. Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

The latest beta X4-17 sends CC 40 when a liveloop changes and CC41 when the mode (normal, fill, intro, ending) changes

Very minor request. I want to save my "input velocity map", and be able to revert to the default one. I sometimes like to completely invert the map, then I have to draw it again to put it back to "normal". And I'm lousy with a mouse. |

The speed of the updates and amount of attention given to users is unbelievable! Thanks for following this forum so closely - I hope you've got enough help.
Seems like a good time to throw in a few more cents here:
My workflow with Jamstix tends to be 1) select a bunch of cool rhythms 2) play along until I've recorded some base instrument tracks 3) pick out the best Jamstix rhythms to match my sections and changes. Then, I add in breaks and try to come up with some new parts. By this time, several of my rhythms slots are being used, and it's difficult to manage which slots are open to try new rhythms in - and impossible to do a free jam or key word jam with lots of new rhythms, because both overwrite the rhythms already selected (from top to bottom of the arrange window). They seem to knock out the content of locked bars as well. If there were some way to group used rhythms rows at the top or bottom, or simply 'protect' any given row from being overwritten by Jam mode, it would allow me to bring Jamstix more powerful features further into my song writing process.
Another arrange request- could the viewing position for the arrange window be released from the host's current position? That way you could pan back and forth to see which rhythms are being used for what without having to play through the song. (You can, in fact, already do this through a whole song, four bars at a time, by moving the green bar indicator to the edge of the screen, scrolling over, and repeating... but it hurts!)
One more thing - possibly already in the product - can Jamstix's velocity levels be set to follow a CC track, independent of the actual drum patterns? In other words, could I control Jamstix's velocity during playback of the song with a MIDI knob, with Jamstix still played its own pattern from its arrangement (and record that MIDI as well, of course)? This would be COOL...
thanks again, Ralph! |

click the little icon at the bottom of Jamstix, just to the left of the "jam with midi/ jam with audio" selector. |
