Hi, I bought Jamstix Studio in the sale a little while ago and got round to installing it last night.
I entered my username and serial number for Jamstix, which appeared to be accepted. But I can't get any sound out of it at all. Notes are being displayed in the bottom window as it plays, and the midi lights are flashing... but no sound. Also, I can't find anywhere to enter my license information for the expansions that come with the Studio bundle, such as Jamcussion etc.
I'm running on 32bit Vista, Renoise as my host (although I also have Reaper, I didn't have time last night to test in both hosts). Here's what I did:
1) Unzipped all files.
2) Ran the Jamstix installer. Changed install path from c:\jamstix3 to c:\program files\jamstix3
3) Installed the plugin to c:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins
4) Ran Renoise, opened the Jamstix plugin. Entered ID and serial. Seemed to be accepted.
5) Went to the kit screen and then installed all the paks, in the order the instructions on the download screen said to.
6) Restarted Renoise.
7) Double-clicked on one of the demo songs in the wizard, and set everything playing. Notes appear at the bottom, midi lights flash, but I get no sound.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks! |

No problem, we're here to help.
Do you have a 'missing sounds' message in the kit window after loading a wizard song? If so, click on it and tell me the first missing sound.
The serials for the Paks are asked for by Jamstix when you first use a style or drummer from each. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks for the fast reply Ralph!
I didn't get any missing sounds notifications that I recall, but I will try this out again when I get home tonight and will report back tomorrow morning. Thanks again! |
