Hi,
Just recently purchased the current version of Jamstix 3. I am wanting to use it with Mixcraft 5 and Guitar Tracks Pro 4.
Installation went fine. I can call Jamstix from both packages no problem.
I watched the quickstart video but I don't get the same result.
I can load a quickstart song but cannot get it to play as in the video at time 1:05.
But here's what I can do:
I can with the mouse click on various parts of the kit and get the sound.
I can drag the the various parts (Intro, verse etc) into the packages on a track and they will play.
But I cannot get Jamstix to play(audition?) as it does in the video.
Any help?
Thanks
Pete. |

| Have you got a song that you load Jamstix into or are you trying to play from scratch in a blank project? |

I want to start fom a blank project.
So, This is where I am now.
I launch Jamstix from either GTP4 or MIxcraft 5.
I load a song in Jamstix.(12-bar blues)
Now I arm the track that contains the Jamstix VST. I press record and Jamstix plays the 12-bar blues song.
No other tracks are in use.
Is this correct?
What I was wanting to do was make my own beat in Jamsticks first and then record it.
Pete
I'm very new to this guys so be patient. Nice product Ray!

You are doing it right. It's easier to let JS make some beats and bars and then change and edit them rather than start from scratch. It can generate many styles and fills just by altering or clicking on bits in the Bar editor and then pressing play or even use the small loop icon in the Bar editor to let a part repeat and keep pressing buttons until you like |

Another way is to start with an empty part ("Clear Song") and loop a bar as Sheppol suggested, enter kick/snare etc. hits as you see fit and, when you're happy with the groove, unloop and click 'Turn Groove Into Style' in the bar editor menu.
You now have your groove in the brain and can select a drummer to interpret it.
Here is also a video:
