Can linear drumming be other styles than Funk ?

Absolutely. The 'Gari' drummer model is designed to linearize ANY beat. You can throw him at jazz, blues, rock, samba etc.
He will alter the underlying groove so it is linear, except for the downbeat. He'll also add hihat notes to fill gaps, alter hihat velocity patterns and you can even tell him to convert some to tom notes like the friendly fella in your video.
