Ralph,
The videos that are up are awesome and they truly help us to understand how to use the software. I don't have words enough to say how well done and helpfull they are.
I know that you're always busy, but I was wondering if a re-frame of what the remaining vids have to be is in order. You are a perfectionist, no doubt. I'm sure you don't want to do those vids until you can get them "just right". I propose a new frame: Perhaps they don't have to be "just right".
What about vastly scaling down the vision to simple, quick videos to help us get up and running with the features. Kind of like, "Hey, guys, I just wanted to take a few minutes to get you up to speed on "__insert subject here_".
Instead of a time-consuming production where every minute detail is mentioned, just a covering of the basics would do us a world of good.
The real reason for this is that somehow these vids help us to understand the workflow. Even if what is described is something we've dabbled with, there's something about watching you "splain" it that gives a great idea of the features in the context of workflow and how to use them to our best advantage.
I apologize if I'm putting you on the spot, I truly don't want to do that, but the subject of training videos comes up from time to time, and it seemed to be a fair subject in here. Naturally, more videos can only help with sales, too, as those YouTubers come across them and get enthused about Jamstix.
I would much rather have a short, basic and to-the-point, no-nonsense video to watch on any given subject than none at all. There is something about watching those vids that really gets inspiring, and let's face it, this is a pretty deep program, especially for us guitarist/drummer wannabees.
I want to be abundantly clear that I'm not in any way whatsoever "scolding" or taking to task. Everybody here knows how hard you work and how limited your time must be. Your level of support is so off the charts good compared to other software publishers that it's legendary. This is not a case of butt-kissing to balance out my request for more vids. It's the honest truth, and we all greatly appreciate it, and we appreciate you.
I don't even know if I should send this, since I suppose that I really am putting you on the spot and I'm sure it gets annoying. I'll go ahead and send, hoping you know that it's out of love for Jamstix that I want more training vids, and out of my desire to be the best I can be with the software. If you can't do them, Ralph, I, and we, completely understand. I just wanted to throw out the suggestion that maybe they don't have to be done on a thorough, grand scale. A little info and exposure to workflow goes a long way.
Keep up the great work, and if you can't put any more on your plate these days, that's perfectly fine and perfectly understandable. I just appreciate what you've done already. Like I said, your level of support is far above any other company that I do business with, and I'm fully aware of how much time that level of support eats up.
