AU MIDI is an issue so OSX VST is our focus initially.

For the initial release will Jamstix for Mac be able to function as a self contained AU without MIDI output?

That is one option we are considering.

If including just VST support in the initial Mac version would lead to an earlier release: that would be preferable.

This. AU is nice, but not a deal-breaker by any means.

RTAS is being considered but Digidesign has so far not responded to our inquiries.

Hi Ralph, do you have any news about it?
Are we close or not? How complete it is? 10%? 20%? What percentage?
Thanks as always!

Mac VST would be fine as a starter! You could probably wrap it in Plogue Bidule as a workaround to have AU and standalone versions.

To all the teenagers spamming this thread with "When? Is it almost done? 20 per cent?…" and so on ad nauseam – you remind me of my kids in the back of the car: "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we…?"

Just shut up, turn up your iPods and Daddy Ralph will tell you in due course. You can bet on it and it's not gonna happen quicker because of the nagging… Wink

It seems that Ralph modelled even forum members apart from drummers.
So let's see who we have here...
The Fantastic Joachim, who think that he is a smartass replying to questions not forwarded to him.

What kind of modelling are you?

"Just shut up, turn up your iPods and Daddy Ralph will tell you in due course. You can bet on it and it's not gonna happen quicker because of the nagging… Wink"

Yeah I understand now. You are the funny asslicker douchbag who thinks to be smart.
It wont'also happen quicker if you use your tongue like that.

Questions ad Nauseum?

We are asking for this Mac Porting from 2008. This is my every 6 months question because I really like the product.

It's not a whining or a negative intended question. I know that Rayzoon is a small company and need its time to develop softwares.

I've used Jamstix since its 1st version and I've also buyed Jamstix 3 to support Ralph and his company with all the expansions and paks even knowing the fact that I cannot use them on my Mac.

Now do you understand when people are not talking to you, or do you need a video example of it?

Just jumping in here to cool things off a bit. I appreciate spitfire's support but I also fully understand any frustrations from those, like digitalnoiser, who have been waiting for JS-OSX since 2008. We're doing the best we can with the resources given and continue to ask for patience and understanding of the difficulties we're encountering as well as the need to keep creating add-ons and updates for thousands of PC users.

Thanks to all of you and let's please keep it civil. This forum is about the most civil place around and you and us can all be proud of that.

i bought (if i remember right) the first version of Jamstix way back too.

i've since left the PC platform and gone Mac/Logic.

i'm sure when there's news Ralph won't forget to post first thing.

that said, i also remember how it was promised to be done in 2010. it won't even be done in 2011.

so... i'm figuring Ralph does not want to make any more predictions or even say 65% done, etc, because his previous prediction was way, way off.

if you want it for Mac, just keep checking in every few months. when there's news, you'll know.

Hey Ralph - maybe you heard that Avid is moving to a new AAX format? Any thoughts of going that route (since RTAS's days are numbered...)?

(still waiting on that Mac version too... Wink is somebody actively working on it, or is it just on the back burner?)

We'll be watching how AAX develops. JS OSX is being worked on.
