Hi,
I have always wanted a bit of software that took most of the frustration out of drum parts in my tracks, and after a day or two of looking at a few sites and user opinion I decided to get the JS3 demo. It didn't stay on my PC for too long as I decided to delete it because quite simply........
....it was great Today I bought the full studio package for $249 - as our paypal is in my wifes name the software is now licensed to her.......she wouldn't know a VST if it smacked her in the head but the software is now loaded up on my PC and I was ready to get stuck in.
Now, I noticed this with the demo but didn't really read too much in to it. But just thought I'd get an answer from someone early on of a problem I'm having that no doubt is down to my lack of knowledge of the software currently. Most of the kit (bar kick) is routed to my left channel.......I can route everything each time I load a kit up to all go to the stereo channels but is this what I have to do each time? It just doesn't seem right that it loads this way. Is it a little quirk in JS3 or Cubase and is there a setting that will sort this for me from the outset?
I hope that makes sense and I really do think that I will have a long and fruitful relationship with this fantastic software.
Cheers

Late Cubase versions default to 2 outputs and you have to enable the rest in the VST rack. Also, make sure 'Downmix' is off in the JS3 mixer. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi again..........is there any chance you good give me a baby steps guide Ralph on how to set this up? (or anyone else who may know).
I'm not new to VSTs or recording but I have just bought Cubase 6 also and once I move out of the very basics I currently struggle a bit. I'm constantly learning though so any advice on what I should do, step by step, would be much appreciated.
Thanks a million. |

If you open the VST instrument rack (under the devices menu) in the slot where jamstix is loaded, immediately to the left of the name field there is a small icon with a little arrow. Click that and activate the outputs from jamstix you want to use. Then, in jamstix you can use the "set output routing" schemes or assign each piece individually to an output. Make sure "downmix" is not highlighted in jamstix (on the mixer panel) or else it will send everything to output 1.
