|

Hello,
I was very interested in Jamcussion. I was wondering, however, how it would work along with my current implementation of jamstix.
Thus far, I haven't used jamstix's internal sounds, mainly due to the fact that I am already very comfortable with the libraries I already own.
so, how would this work with jamcussion?
Here are the implementations I could imagine, let me know which is closest to workable:
1. use one instance of jamstix
use its brain to trigger a vsti for drumsounds
use jamcussion and its internal sounds simultaneously with midi triggering
2. use one instance of jamstix
use its brain to trigger a vsti for drumsounds
use jamcussion to trigger the percussion sounds of the vsti, what vstis would be compatible?
3. use two instances of jamstix
use instance A to trigger a vsti for drumsounds
use instance B to trigger its own internal percussion (jamcussion)
somehow synchronize the two instances (arrangement wise this would be annoying, would have to update both versions, which is why this feature request might come in handy:

Methods 1 and 2 will work. You can adjust the MIDI mapping of Jamcussion to fit any percussion VST you want to use.
Note that if you drive external VSTi via MIDI, you can assign a separate MIDI channel to Jamcussion to drive multiple VSTi with one instance of Jamstix. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph
On the subject of routing Jamcusion independently via selected midi channel. option.. I haven't been able to get this working in Cubase 6, 64 bit (Windows 7). I get Jamstix drums and Jamcusion coming through same channel regardless of what midi is selected....?
Is this something to do with the vst wrapper in Cubase itself. If anyone has got this working it would be good to hear..
Thanks |

yeah, i really can't get this to work. Bought jamcussion, trying to set up a template in reaper...
want to have one instance of jamstix drive superior drummer (through midi out, not subhosting), and then also be using jamcussion |

So, you want to drive SD via MIDI out and play Jamcussion internal sound as at the same time?
I'd use the 'Send Whole Kit To MIDI Channel' function in the JS3 kit menu to send Jamcussion to i.e. channel 3. Now make sure SD does not respond to channel 3 notes (internally or via channel filter on the host MIDI track). _________________ Ralph Zeuner
